Maria Freeman enjoys being an opera singer, a concert recitalist, and a soprano soloist. Her performing credits include The Countess (The Marriage of Figaro), First Lady (The Magic Flute), Leonora (Il Trovatore), Mimi (La Boheme), Donna Elvira (Don Giovanni), Tosca (Tosca), Frasquita (Carmen), Violetta (La Traviata), Fiordiligi (Cosi fan tutte), The High Priestess (Aida), Giannetta (L'Elisir d'Amore), Lauretta (Gianni Schicci), Marzelline (Fidelio), The Voice of Antonia's Mother (The Tales of Hoffmann), and Echo (Ariadne auf Naxos). Other performances include, Maritza (The Merry Widow), Desdemona (Otello), Sally (Die Fledermaus), Alisa (Lucia di Lammermoor), Ninfa III in (Monteverdi's Orfeo); Ahmal and the Night Visitors, HMS Pinafore, Cavalliera Rusticana, Pagliacci, Madama Butterfly, La Forza del Destino, Rigoletto, and Un Ballo in Maschera.

Miss Freeman has worked with notable vocal coaches, teachers and conductors including Bill Neill, Craig Rutenberg, Scott Barnes, Martin Katz, Stephen Lord, Nico Castel, Philip Highfill, Margo Garrett, Marlena Malas, Jay Lesenger, Janet Bookspan, Tal Fountleroy, Joanna Levy, Zehava Gal, Andrew Frierson, Terri Decima, Earl Buys, Glenn Morton, Jonathan Faiman, Tamara Cashour, Sidney Wright, David Rebhun, Eleanor Steber, Gerald Souzay, Phyllis Curtain, Hans Hotter, Tony Amato, Edward Jackson, Marcello Garofalo, Kurt Masur, Julius Williams, Noel DaCosta, Christopher Cooley, Gregory Hopkins, Bill Lewis, Lauren Flanigan, James Davis Jr., Nathanial Gumbs, Courtney Carey, Malcolm Merriweather, Tyrone Clinton, and Vinroy Brown.

She received her Masters from Manhattan School of Music completing her voice studies with Charles Bressler; and performed opera scenes with the opera Workshop and in the premiere of Haydn’s La Primiata Fideltá with the opera theater. Miss Freeman received her Bachelors of Music from New England Conservatory of Music completing her voice studies with Geraldine Martin, and performed with the NEC Chorus under Lorna Cooke DeVaron with the Boston Symphony Orchestra under Seiji Ozawa. She has trained at such recognized vocal programs as the Blossom Music Festival and Tanglewood Music Festival and made her Carnegie Hall debut as soloist in Verdi's Requiem with Voices Saint Paulia and Symphony Saint Paulia. Roles in preparation include Aida, Madame Butterfly, Liu, and Tosca.
